Ligia Orellana LMFT, Anxiety Therapist Los Angeles and Northern California
Hi ! My name is Ligia, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I help first Gen BIPOC and Queer folx live authentically and unapologetically.
As a Latinx therapist myself, I bring a cultural sensitivity to my work that allows me to connect with clients in a deeper way. I understand the challenges that can arise from cultural expectations, family dynamics, and generational trauma, and I tailor my approach to meet you where you are.
I work together with first Gen BIPOC and Queer folx, who want to explore and understand imbalances in their life. Specifically how fear, guilt, and shame has contributed to their individual anxiety to then feeling as if it has overtaken their lives.
I specialize in working with individuals for their own internal growth and relational growth. People who are looking to understand their emotions, struggle less with people pleasing, toxic relationships, and explore their gender/sexual identity.
In our work together, we invest time into identification of the common thread(s) around how your anxiety shows up for you. If there are connection(s) from childhood to adulthood we can dig deeper into, and what leads to the resurfacing of anxiety - that feels inconvenient. Let’s face it - being in anxiety spirals and rabbit holes are not the way we want to spend our days. Overall, the goal is to expand the understanding of your story as an individual- beliefs, values, and relationships that have shaped you.
At the end of our time together; my clients graduate from therapy feeling more confident in making authentic and affirming choices, gain control of their symptoms, and struggle less with worried thoughts around their relationship within themselves and with others. Most importantly - they are able to heal and move away from feelings of guilt and shame.

Short answer — It depends on different factors. Every client is different in how they progress in therapy. I share with my clients that my goal in therapy is for them to be able to have the emotional strength they cultivate in therapy to support them long after our sessions together. Anxiety Therapy Los Angeles isn’t just about solving problems—it’s about emotional growth.

I work through an intersectional lens, which means that I take into account how factors like culture, race, gender, and sexuality can affect your anxiety and overall mental health. My work often combines elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Attachment Theory along with a deeper exploration of how the past impacts the present.
